Where It Started

Our story begins in the Army.

Sunny Alexander attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where she also played on the women’s soccer team. She always points out that “soccer” got her into West Point, and her stubborn refusal to give up got her to graduation, with fewer than 10% of her class being women. She went on to serve as a Platoon Leader at Fort Bragg, attended Airborne School, and later commanded two companies. She also found “Lieutenant Love” at Fort Bragg, where she met her husband, Jordan.

During her service, she was responsible for soldiers and families navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives, including supporting those wounded in action and working with Gold Star families.

Those experiences didn’t just shape her leadership; they define how we operate today.

From Service to Real Estate in Tampa Bay

After transitioning out of the Army in 2007, Sunny moved into real estate with a clear mission:
To guide people through important decisions with strategy, discipline, and care.

Leaving the Army was harder than expected.

For years, there had been a clear mission and a team she was responsible for. When that chapter ended, so did a significant part of her identity. Like many veterans, she had to figure out what came next and what meaningful service looked like outside of the military.

At the time, Sunny and her husband Jordan were stationed in Clarksville, Tennessee, where Jordan served on a Special Forces team and was in and out of Iraq during the height of the war.

While he was gone, Sunny carried that responsibility at home and channeled her focus into building her real estate career. What started as a new path quickly became a new mission (or obsession) serving clients with the same level of responsibility, discipline, and care she had in the Army.

That season shaped how she approaches real estate today.

Over time, that mission expanded into what is now Red Sash Realty, a veteran-owned real estate brokerage serving the Tampa Bay area, including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and surrounding communities.

We specialize in:

Mike | Infantry Officer → Real Estate Advisor

As a former Infantry Officer with 12 years of active-duty service, Mike’s career was defined by leadership, mentorship, and guiding Soldiers through complex challenges.

Like many veterans, the transition to civilian life was not easy.

From 18 to 33, the Army was all he knew. Stepping away meant finding not just a new career but a new sense of purpose.

That search led him and his wife to real estate investing and ultimately to a business built around helping people make better decisions during major life transitions.

After relocating to Tampa, they connected with Sunny, who helped them find both their investment properties and their home. What started as a client relationship quickly became something more, a shared belief that this business isn’t about transactions, it’s about responsibility.

Today, Mike serves as a REALTOR® and property manager, helping clients navigate Tampa real estate, relocation, and investment opportunities.

Having personally experienced:

He understands what clients are going through and guides them with clarity, discipline, and a focus on long-term outcomes.
