Sunny: From humble beginnings in Texas, soccer instilled in me the work ethic and determination that earned me an appointment to West Point. As one of the few women in my class—less than 10%—I faced adversity at every turn. But each challenge only strengthened my resolve to lead and serve with purpose. 

I began my military career at Fort Bragg, where I served as a Platoon Leader in an Airborne unit. I later commanded two companies at Fort Bragg and went on to serve at the Casualty Memorial Operations Command Center, working closely with the families of Soldiers wounded in action and Gold Star Families. Working with these families was both life-altering and heartbreaking, but it fueled my lifelong commitment to support them—connecting them with resources and advocating on their behalf through legislative efforts. 

These experiences paved the way for my transition to real estate in 2007, driven by a passion to serve veterans and military families. My husband, Jordan, served 22 years in the Army—15 in Special Forces—and our daughter, Skyla, grew up immersed in military life. We’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of relocation, navigating VA loans, and the complexities of military transitions.

Moving to Tampa gave us the opportunity to finally put down roots in a community with a strong military and veteran presence.  Through Red Sash Group, my purpose is rooted in faith, family, and community—values that continue to drive me to make a meaningful impact in the Tampa Bay area. 

Mike: As a former infantry officer with 12 years of active-duty service, my military journey was marked by leadership, mentorship and camaraderie. Guiding Soldiers through challenges defined who I was and the values I wanted to uphold. With all I had experienced and overcome, I never expected the transition back to civilian life to be one of my greatest challenges.

From 18 to 33, all I had known was Army life – it was a big adjustment to figure out what was next and what would bring fulfillment to my life. I couldn’t envision myself working a corporate job that didn’t have significant meaning to me. My wife and I began investing in real estate and loved it. Eventually, we relocated to Tampa, Florida, where we met Sunny, who helped us find our investment properties and forever home. We bonded over our shared experiences at West Point. She and Jordan had the same passion for serving fellow military families. 

As a REALTOR® and property manager, I now help families and investors, drawing from values of community, family, faith, and service. When I first transitioned out of the military, I wasn’t sure how I would be able to continue to serve others, but now, I do. Real estate presents endless opportunities to help people and positively impact my community.

My wife and I are expecting our first child soon. With our family growing, I am inspired and motivated to continue building a legacy that will make my family proud!

As we enter this new chapter in our lives, I am reminded more than ever of the significance of my role as a real estate agent. As someone who has gone through multiple military moves, investing in real estate and supporting my family, I can connect with and relate to clients as they undergo these life-changing processes with guidance and support.
